Lush day today - cold and clear with a chilly NE wind. Out of the wind you can feel a bit of power in the sun and the days are really starting to stretch out. Nothing on for the surf today but we should see a good long distance groundswell in for tomorrow right through until Thursday. Looks like it'll be ENE winds tomorrow, gradually backing NE, then N by Thursday, so tomorrow could be the best day - espeically at those spots effected by any north in the wind. Should reach 3ft+ for the open beaches tomorrow, same again for Wednesday, before slowly fading out into Thursday. Winds looking northerly on Friday, before they continue to back to the NNW, mesing up the small underlying swell that remains. So make the most of the next day or so.
Tides: Low 4am/4pm. Moving to neaps.
Merino Longjohns and boxers now coming back in - should be on the site towards end of Feb. If you're on the newsletter, you cna get a pre-order going. Merino Base Layers.
Have a look at the blog to see Carlos in what is being touted as one of the biggest barrels on the North Shore. |
