General situation for South Ireland
Updated Friday 4th July 2008
The nice swells are fading rapidly and will be replaced soon by local messy windwaves. These will be south westerly at first but will be north westerly for the weekend and most of next week. The weekend could see some large and nasty waves with strong winds. Look for sheltered spots if you want to do any surfing. Next week, the winds will drop and the waves get smaller but they will always be local and messy with very little quality. Next weekend looks like much the same thing only a bit less stormy. - SoulSurfer

NOTE: The above data is for deep water ocean swells, and does not mean that waves at the beach will be that size or direction. It does however provide a valuable indication of the swell size, direction and winds for the next 72 hours. The most reliable indication of actual conditions is an Eyeball Surf Report, as on most of our surf report pages.

Tramore has a promenade, car park and lifeguard station. Tramore beach is 5km long with high sand dunes but it is also very stony particularly near the promenade so for a more sandy feel it is best to walk towards the other end of the beach.
